As a child, Dr. Gutierrez planned to be a plastic surgeon. His father and friend, a 25 year professor at the University Of Medical School in Baja California, noticed Manuel was skillful in arts and science. His father commented that Manuel would skillfully become a plastic surgeon one day.
Dr. Manuel Gutierrez studied at a medical school in Mexico for 6 years. He then took the national boards for General Surgery where he was accepted at the General Hospital (Hospital La Raza) in Mexico City for three year as a General Surgeon. He received his diploma and is recognized by the Mexican Board of General Surgery. Then he decided to study Plastic Esthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. Three more years he spent practicing as a plastic surgeon and received his diploma as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon from the General Hospital in Mexico City.

SMILE PROYECT FOR CHILDRENS
Dr. Gutierrez joins with other plastic surgeons in his own facility several times a year through "THE SMILE PROJECT". This project treats underprivileged children who have congenital and traumatic childhood deformities, and offers treatment and rehabilitation programs for them to be able to overcome their disabilities
